I took the final today in my STAT-125 class, and well I am so happy I have the opportunity to sleep in tomorrow....I don't think that I will, but I could if I wanted to. I kind of like being on a schedule, and it is good for me to have a routine. My body & M/S appreciate it, I can tell. I started the final a little bit before 5:30PM, and didn't get out of the class room until 8:30. I was so incredibly blessed to have the professor that I had. She really cared about her students understanding the information. I was the last one out, and really struggling on one specific part of the FINAL. She saw that I was, and without telling me the answer, or giving too much information so as to give it away. She helped me to understand what I was doing wrong. BINGO!! I felt like I did pretty good on it, seriously I did. I felt very prepared. And on Tuesday, we will just see how prepared I really was.

After I got out of class, I had a text from my friend Wes. He wanted to know if I wanted to go to Pineapple Express at the Carmike Theater (HUGE 20 screen cinema), with some other guys to see it. Well, I texted him back fairly quickly and told him that I was kind of strapped for cash, and that I didn't think it would be a fiscally responsible decision.....well in so many words that is what I said.
But, when I got home from class, I told my mom I wasn't going to go cuz ~o~ low money situation, and she told me, "you have a job, go enjoy yourself." LOL, thanks for the wise money decision MOM. ;-) But I am glad I went, and actually my friend ended up paying for me, my debit got denied for whatever reason, and so it actually cost me nothing! HORRAY! The movie was pretty good too. It was no Cocaine Cowboys 2, but good none the less.Actually, it would have been really cool to see Cocaine Cowboys 2 in the movie theaters. I dunno, I love documentaries, especially in your face ones that don't hold back. It would have been sweet to see everyones reactions and what not.

Anyways, I am going to get off here. Maybe I will watch some T.V., I dunno, I don't have to get up early to study tomorrow. So the possibilities are limitless! Actually they are pretty limited...

Brethern listen to this exposition

AHHHHH! I tried and tried to upload music to this post so you can listen to this specific song because the lyrics are good, because the song is awesome! So, I'll do this instead.

Verse 1:
Brethren listen to this exposition
Paul wrote the Philippians some lessons for living (1:1)
Written to them but its real good text for Christians
So read it closely, I hope we can catch the vision
Chapter 1 he tells them he’s blessed to get them
Co-laboring with him to serve the best who’s risen (1:5, 7)
And that’s he’s confident the Lord will perfect in Christians
What He started and hearts will be corrected in them (1:6)
Listen, he was in prison now maybe never getting out
But all he could think about was the gospel getting out (1:12-14)
Some was even preaching Christ from selfish motives
Coming at Paul but dawg he shrugged his shoulders (1:15-18 )
His focus was Christ the Messiah man (1:19)
And for Him “to live is Christ and to die was gain” (1:20,21)
Yeah, he was hard pressed, but to remain in the flesh
Was more necessary so they faith would progress (1:22-24)
He wanted them to strive together for the gospel
In one spirit, one mind, listen to the apostle (1:27)
Maintain the same love, uplift your brothers
Don’t just look out for yourself, but for the interests of others (2:2-4)

Hook:
Our life is nothing, but Christ is all (1:21)
So conduct yourselves worthy of His righteous call (1:27)
(Repeat 4X)

Verse 2:
Chapter 2: Let’s examine five through eleven
The blessed lamb who resided in the Heavens (2:6)
Said forget the wealth and emptied Himself
Came as a man and died for the brethren (2:7,8 )
Ultimate obedience, he died on the cross and (2:8 )
Through His humility Christ was exalted (2:9)
Glory to the Father (2:11), now we should have
That same attitude Christ Jesus had (2:5)
And on to verse twelve work out your salvation (2:12)
The Father works in us in this process of saving (2:13)
Avoid dispute and prove yourself blameless
Children of God in a perverse generation (2:14,15)
Cling to the bible, humility is vital
We see it in lives of Paul and his disciples (2:17-30)
Serving him like father (2:22), some fellow soldiers (2:25)
Let us rejoice, unite, and rep Jehovah

Hook

Verse 3:
Chapter 3: rejoice in the Lord we serve (3:1)
And forget about the flesh we nothing more than dirt (3:3)
Man if anyone could brag bout they status it was Paul
But to him it was trash it and he counted it as lost
For the sake of the Christ, ’cause He gave us life (3:4-7)
Not through anything we did but through faith in Christ (3:9)
We righteous in the eyes of the Lord’s that’s blessing
Conformed to His death and His resurrection (3:9-10)
Brethren, I don’t claim to have attained perfection’s
What he said but was reaching to what lies ahead (3:12-13)
And encouraged the Philippians to model what he said (3:15)
And not to walk in the flesh cause that walk is dead (3:17-19)
But we citizens of Heaven who eagerly wait for
The one that we rest in Jesus our Savior (3:20)
That’s who the Lord is and He will surely
Transform our bodies in future glory (3:21)

Hook

Verse 4:
Chapter 4: he closes encouraging with words
In unity and harmony for those within the church (4:1-3)
Rejoice in the Lord, bro our hopes in Him first (4:4)
Let our thanks and our problems be known to Him first (4:6)
Embrace the peace of God, you can bet on that (4:7)
And whatever is good let your mind dwell on that (4:8 )
Then he thanked them again, for they gifts and concern (4:10)
But no matter what to be content he had learned (4:11-12)
Plus he was sure that he could do all things
Through Him who gave strength and can do all things (4:13)
And he told them they did well sharing through all pain (4:14)
And made sure they knew he sure he wasn’t trying to get more change (4:15-18 )
God will supply all they needs he hoped they might see this
According to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (4:19)
The truth of Philippians I hope it hit you
And may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you (4:23)
I hope you like what you heard with me rapping these verses
But don’t get it twisted, we just scratching the surface
There’s more to be learned than this rap is saying
So read it, live it, learn it like the back of your hand

Man, that hit's me hard. "our life is nothing, but Christ is all, so conduct yourself worthy of his righteous call."

Also, "humility is VITAL" AWESOME! I wanna conduct myself worthy of his call, I wanna be above reproach, I wanna be pure so that others may see something different. I fail at it constantly, but God never stops tugging at my heart, and that is so comforting! Also, this song gives me such a good visual of Apostle Paul(philippians 1:15-18), like when it talks about how people were doing all kinds of stupid crap, and blaming and being selfish, not pure motives, etc. I just see Paul behind bars lifting up his Shoulders and leaning his head to the side and saying, "as long as the word is preached." That's real cool.

I got another 88% yesterday on the Quiz I took. Tomorrow is the FINAL!!!! I will be ready for it, I will be ready for it, I will be ready for it, I will be ready for it, I will be ready for it......I just have to keep telling myself that over and over. ;-) I'll do fine though.

shut up, seriously?

This is my life, I just tell it like it is.....

This morning I woke up at 7:00 and was at the Y working out by 7:55, I went home as usual and was just getting ready to get in the shower when I got a phone call. It was another RESTRICTED phone call, but I picked it up anyways. As soon as I did, I was blown away. I recognized the voice right away, and when he told me who he was for himself, when I actually heard the audio play into my ears, I actually had the breath taken out of me.Now you might be thinking, well all this is a bit much Mikey, but I kid you not. Charles called me up and we spoke for a good 34 minutes and 26 seconds this morning about subjects ranging from his past life, to positively affecting the youth of today. What a crazy experience, just 2 days ago I was watching a movie about this guy, talking with my friends about how it would be crazy to be able to meet him. And then I get to talk with him on the phone. Not only that, but Charles & his wife said that they admired the things I have done... WHAT?!?!? It is so interesting to me, to see how everything unfolded. Right from the get go, when we (my friends and I) were in Blockbuster, it was strange. Josh(friend) wanted to watch Harold and Kumar 2 Escape from Guantanamo Bay...but I thought that looked stupid and mindless so I was very defiant as soon as the suggestion was made. We kept looking and Josh kept trying to talk me into Harold & Kumar. Well, we look and look and look and finally get down to the last wall of movies. Tony who was quiet the whole time says, "hey, look it's Cocaine Cowboys 2." We all agreed & the rest is history. All the little things really do make a difference.

Once I got to class today I got my test back from last Friday. I ended up getting an 88.8% which I was quite pleased with since it is my Statistics class, and I have to study my butt off just to get an 88%.

I should be set for the FINAL on Thursday, I just have to study, study, study. I have turned down several opportunities to work at the YMCA because I just feel like I need to take advantage of every single opportunity that I have to "make that grade." I just have to continue to pray that my alternator, battery & belt continue to hold together till I can slowly accumulate enough money to take care of them. I am sure it will be fine though. "knock on wood" :~)

crazy phone call

I slept in fairly late today, like at least 11:00AM.M. and I was pretty slow. When I was driving to work, I get a phone call. It was from a gentlemen, and the phone number was restricted. Well, this gentlemen was a web-site developer for Charles Cosby, who was the star of the movie Cocaine Cowboys 2 which I watched yesterday with my friends. Well, this guy told me that he had an alert sent to him about me posting information on the movie Cocaine Cowboys 2, and he apparently looked into me a bit and found my old information about me fund raising to go to China. Well, he told me that he talked to Charles Cosby (who was in fact one of the largest cocaine dealers in North America through the late 80's and early 90's, and Charles wanted to offer me a signed copy of the movie. He wanted to donate that movie to my fund raising efforts. He must have found this link, and just didn't check the dates, because on www.survivingms.com I have not really updated it in a while, so you wouldn't know I was not still fund raising. SO......, it is still a crazy story. CHARLES COSBY wanted to donate to my efforts. It is not that I look up to the guy in any way, shape or form, but I do admire his want to help me. I told the web-site developer that I was not fund raising, but if he still wanted to donate to my cause, I would put all proceeds to my NTAF fund for any future medical expenses. But, I don't know if he is going to respond to that, we will see.
After I got out of class, I went over to my sisters house and helped her out with her phone worries. Her phone has been messing up lately, and if she goes through centennial, it will cost her $30.00 to get a new one, but that is no good, if she goes through Sony Erickson, then it will be free, she just needed to do some sweet talking, well that is what I did for her with the tech people after calss. Tomorrow she will send her phone out, and in like 10 business days, she will have a new phone. Pretty neat how that works, huh? :-)

I'm feeling a bit down, I think I am going to go to bed a bit early tonight.

mine day

Today I tried out a new church, not saying it is gonna be a permanent fix or anything, just heard from a friend that it is a good one so I went and tried it out. It was okay, I suppose, I think I wanna go a few more times before I make a judgment call on it tho.

Today I went and hung out with someone named Megan. I met her through some random circumstances, and well we hung out today for a bit after I was done studying. We played some Wii.

Then I went back to my neighborhood and went to Tony & Joshes with Chris and we watched Cocaine Cowboys 2, that is a crazy series that really gives crazy insight into Miami during the 80's and through the cocaine years. CRAZINESS!!!I came home and talked with my friend Wendy. We talked for a long long long time and I am just really confused about many things involved with her. Maybe the future will shed light onto that and I will share more at that time. ~clears throat~ The name was not random.

Slip and SLIDE

It is getting so repetitive to write that I have been studying, but that is what fills my free time these days. STUDY STUDY STUDY!! I didn't get up till around 10:30 today, then was pretty lazy till about 12. I got up and was at the University studying from ohhh 2:30 to about 9ish. IT WAS LONG STUDY TIME! ~sigh~ and I have more yet, to do. It will all be worth it when I get that grAde. It will not be an A, but I am going to try hard to get the best I can get. When I was driving home I saw a house at the front of my edition with a crazy slip & slide. Now, it is extremely hillbilly looking, but really funny. I stopped to check it out, and the neighbors were out talking and I snapped some pictures. LOL. Check this out. This first picture is like from the ground level up to the roof. This second picture is like from the end of the wooden part down to the pond. It is so weird. The house is a duplex, and the guy who made the thing is actually the owner of the house. He is some 24 year old dude who wanted to make the ultimate slip & slide.......yea, I dunno, but whatever.

ouch, it is hard to grasp

Do you ever talk to someone till you forget how much time has gone by? It seems like when you are on the same page with someone, your just in a great place.

Today was rough again, i'm not going to lie, a lesser man (man without Christ) could have been driven to drinking, drugs, or whatever numbing agent of his choice. But, I stuck it out.

I had the worst case scenario happen with a very young child. I found out about some horrible things going on in this young persons life. Very young, and I had to report it. It makes me question things, and can make me very angry. I have to rely on the God that loves all man, and I must search after that. It has to be slightly attainable. I know for darn sure that I am not capable of understanding why the most horrible things happen to the innocent. Or how I am suppose to love someone who does the horrible things. I am growing and learning though. I am for sure.

And I feel as though I was blessed because of my decision. After work I went to a pool party that I was invited to by a Young Life kid by the name of Nolan. He is a great dude, and I love chatting with him. I love it when people are honest with me. That is such a great thing for me.

Then I had the amazing and wonderful opportunity to talk with someone who is on the same page as me. And it was just so healthy for me. I desire and need that "connection" once in a while, as a reminder almost to just continue to love and experience amidst patience. And no, I did not screw that sentence up. That is exactly what I wanted to write.
