The love was thick today!!

This was the bridge that I was on yesterday when I made that video. I was coming from the other direction, and just opened my door which would have been to the guard rail to the right in the picture above. This is how the bridge is suppose to look, lol. yesterday was an exception.

Today started off slow, and that is not a complaint. I love that my winter break has been very laid back and chill. It is a nice change. The freedom to roam and do as I wish is quite nice. So, before school got over, my English professor Tom had invited me to a house party. I have much of Tom in my BLOGG, if you don't remember who he is, then just follow this link to a ~PAST POST~. Anyways, I was feeling very anxious to go to this party. It was very strange, ever sense I woke up this morning, I had this little voice inside me telling me not to go. It was totally bizarre because I couldn't understand why. I love going to parties, and I love TOM. It only seemed natural that I go. I mean, I love people, and I knew that the people that would be at a party that Tom would have would be of the highest quality of people, so I just couldn't figure out WHY I had inner tension about going. Well, I didn't have an answer until after I left. It was all clear as I walked from Tom's front door to my car. Check out these pictures, and I will share why.
Ya see, it was a great party. The people were past student's of Tom, and some of his close friends. A great bunch would be a massive understatement. I got to talking with a couple. He was a past high school student of Tom's. A very nice pair. Anyways, I shared a little bit of my story. How M/S impacted my life, and how Jesus has become the central focal point for me. Well, Tom overheard me speaking, and quickly came and asked if I would be willing to share in front of everyone. I agreed and before ya know it, everyone was gathered around the table. I started talking, and told about how M/S kind of brought me into who I am today. I talked about how through struggles I realized that I had to SURRENDER and allow Christ to take the steering wheel. It is not what Mikey wants, but what HE wants. This is why I was attacked before the party (Satan will poke at you). I am so thankful for Tom. I believe everyone in that room would agree that Tom is the definition of sincere love. It just pours out of him, and he is a true living inspiration to me. An example of what it looks like to genuinely care about people from all walks of life. After the party, I went over to my sister's house. Her fiance is going to be selling Kirby's and wanted to know if he could give me his line of bull....I mean he wanted to test out his salesmen skills on me. I agreed, and the whole time I thought to myself, "no one is going to buy one of these when the economy is good, why in the heck would they buy it now??" But, I listened and we will see. Good thing he is going back to school though. ;-)

Also, a really really good thing happened today. I am going to be taking a kid to so sking on the 3rd, and well my car is not the best choice for a trip to Michigan. It doesn't have cruise, my ski's won't fit in it, and it get's really bumpy when you go over 65MPH. Well, TOM, a Young Life staff member agreed to let me use his car for the trip. I AM SO EXCITED!! If anyone wants to pray for the trip, it is on the 3rd, and his name is Brandin.

SKI TRIP

This is what it looked like when we arrived to BOYNE. It was rocking, and there was so much snow I couldn't hardly believe it. We skied hard all day, and it was amazing. It felt so good to get on the hills. When we were done for the day, we headed to my friend Garry's house. Well, it was more of a cabin, actually it was completely a cabin. It wasn't 4 star accomodations, but worked perfectly well. I was forever grateful for Garry and his roomies to put us up for the evening. 7 guys in a tiny cabin would be overwhelming for most people, but they did it.

We decided that BOYNE didn't have the right stuff that we wanted to SKI. Some of the guys wanted to really hit up some terrain stuff. BOYNE, just didn't have enough open yet. So, for the second day of sking, we went to Crystal Mountain. We had to drive for about 1 1/2 hours to get to Crystal, and on the way there, we stopped in Traverse City (the city I lived in for about a year when I was going to school up in Michigan). We stopped at a MC Donalds that was right accross the street from the Grate Lakes Maritime Academy.

It was almost a strange feeling to see the old city and school. Brought back a lot of memories, and what not. The picture above sure does show how much snow they get up there in Michigan. The picture above shows the GLMA building. Behind it is the 225 foot training ship, State of Michigan. I didn't get a chance to take a photo of it, because of time. When we got to Crystal Mountain, it was such a perfect day of ski/snowboarding. Everyone was happy, everyone got a long.

Now here is a video taken while we were at BOYNE. It shows how much fun I was having, and I think it portrays the connection between my friends and I. Sorry for those of you who can not watch YouTube videos. :-( It was just so much easier to upload it this way.

We drove home then. This is Jeremy. He was the driver for the trip. It was my dad's van, but I am not allowed to drive my parents vehicles. When I was 18, I had to sign a paper from their insurance company that said I would not touch their vehicles. So, Jeremy said he would do the driving. This is what it looked like most of the way home. It was crazy icy, and we plugged right on through. That was my SKI trip. It was totally fun, and I am extremely glad I went on it. I felt it was much....not needed, but possibly deserved. After all the hard work I put in at school this semester, it was nice to take a break.

all ski prepped and ready to rock some slopes

This is post number 700!! I can not believe that I have stuck with this whole BLOG thing for a whopping SEVEN-HUNDRED posts. It really is my release zone. When I am looking back on my day, it allows me to stop, breathe, and focus on someone I constantly seem to avoid.....ME!!
Well, today I did something slightly out of the ordinary for me. Slightly out of the ordinary lately anyways. I got me some SKI gear. Wow, did God bless me with the right prices and people. I got these ski's along with perfectly good binding for only $30.oo!If you look closely at this picture, you will see that I am standing on the trunk of my car. My car was sitting in the parking lot of MC Sports. I couldn't get a good shot of the blades, so I just stood on the trunk to take it. People gave me those "strange googly eyes," but I say it was worth it. After I got these blades, I am thinking to myself. Well, I leave on the 12th for a 2 day ski fest weekend in Northern MI. with friends, "hummmmmm should I just splurge and get some really awesome totally cool SKI-BOOT's?" I called my old German teachers ski shop here in Fort Wayne, and asked if he would take a look at the blades, and talk boots with me. He said sure thing, and so when I got out of work I went right to the Ski Pole (shop Mr. Lutz owns). It was so good to see him again, and he said blades are great, and gave me %40 off of a pair of last years boots. They look, feel, and work perfectly fine, so I BOUGHT THEM!!I am excited to have nice boots, and blades, and am extremely excited to use them. My day was also extremely good as well. Right now in my BIBLE STUDY (BSF), well the main study is over the life of Moses. This weeks lesson was over the Tabernackle. Now, this could be extremely boring if you had it in your mind that it would be. BUT, when you allow the Holy Spirit to do the work in you that Christ longs to do, well boring becomes interesting, and lessons invade your every focus. That happened to me while I was at the YMCA riding the bike hard for 35 minutes while I read the notes. God amazes me everywhere. :-) Truly he does.
